The Frightening Reality Of The Fact That We Will All Have To Grow Up And Settle Down One Day
Tonight I’m going to see Chris Conley (Saves the Day), and a .moneen. acoustic set for the 1-year anniversary of #MFOY at Sneaky Dee’s. The reality of how HUGE this is has just sunk in this morning…Saves the Day are one of THOSE bands for me. One of those bands that taught me how to LOVE music, and helped me through tough times when I was younger and angstier than I am today. And hell, .moneen. aren’t far behind. These bands are like old friends that I may not see every single day, but still love with my whole heart. It’s going to be a joyous reunion, and a heck of a trip down memory lane.
So, in honour of them, it’s Saves the Day and .moneen. jams all freakin’ day long.
Moneen is back! Sort of. They recently announced that they will slowly be playing shows, getting back into music. Looks like their first show is going to be an acoustic one, opening for Chris Conley (Saves The Day) in Toronto at Sneaky Dee’s. For more info, check out the Facebook event here.

Some awesome things:
- Tomorrow I will be free from my desk job for the summer, returning to my serving/bar-tending roots! VERY excited to get out of my cubicle and have a job with more social interaction and flexibility!
- My job hunt has gone very well so far (almost too well!), with very positive responses from my resumes, lots of interviews, and several job offers!
- I’m celebrating my freedom from the office with an evening at the ROM tomorrow. Very cool.
- Just purchased my shuttle bus ticket for Sasquatch. All that is left now is the actual flight! Less than a month away!
- Adding on a day/night in Vancouver to my Sasquatch adventure! Very excited! Last time I was in Vancouver, it was very brief, so I’m looking forward to having a little more time there!
- Last night I got to see one of my dearest friends who I hadn’t seen in 5 YEARS! It was SO nice to finally get caught up, seeing as how we’ve been living in the same city for months!
- I have a big ol’ crush on a lovely boy who likes me too! :)
- Boyz II Men, “I’ll Make Love to You” is playing on the radio right now. I’m exploding with grade 8 dance delight!
The Wooden Sky killed it last night at the Opera House! Went by myself, met up with friends along the way, and had the sort of night that reminded me of why I moved to the city in the first place :)
